Annual Meeting and Elections
The Liberty Eagle’s Hockey Club is seeking interested candidates to run for the Club’s Board of Directors.
The club’s annual meeting and elections will be held on Thursday, May 18th, 2023 @ 6:30 PM at the Wentzville Ice Arena.
Current rostered JV and B-team families are allowed one vote per player in good standing at the annual meeting. The voter will be able to vote for one individual for EACH open position. There is no proxy voting allowed at any meeting of the members. A member may only vote in person. Any individual(s) who are compensated by the club in any way are ineligible to vote. While 2010 birthyear families are not allowed a vote in the elections, they are allowed to seek a position as a Board of Director to help shape the future of the Club. Membership commences immediately upon selection of a player for any of the club sponsored teams and shall continue from year to year for the full eligibility of the player. Membership shall terminate immediately upon non selection of the player for any of the club sponsored teams, upon voluntary or involuntary removal from the team, or at the end of the season (including playoffs) of the player's final year of eligibility.
Open positions include:
President (incumbent is also seeking re-election)
Treasurer (incumbent is also seeking re-election)
Secretary (incumbent is also seeking re-election)
Job Descriptions:
President:
• Shall be the principal executive officer of the organization and shall in general supervise and control all the business and affairs of the organization.
• Shall preside at all meetings of the members and of the Board.
• Responsible for the overall conduct of the organization including the enforcement of the rules of LHC, MSCHA, and any other affiliated organizations.
Treasurer:
• Have charge and custody of and be responsible for all funds.
• Receive and give receipt for monies due and payable to the Organization and deposit all such monies in the name of the Organization to such bank, trust company or other depository.
• Perform the entire duties incident of the office of Treasurer and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or by the Board.
• See to it that all fees and expenses to MSCHA, ice arenas, equipment suppliers, etc. are paid in a timely fashion; and those players have paid their fees and deposits.
• Issue a financial report at the annual meeting.
Secretary:
• Keep the minutes of the organization and Board meetings in one or more books provided for that purpose.
• See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the provisions of these Bylaws or as required by law.
• Have general charge over the release of public information, news release and dissemination of information, schedules, game times, places and other events to the media and the participants in the activities of the organization.
• In general, perform all duties incidents to the office of Secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned by the President or by the Board.
• Responsible for maintaining current and past records of the organization, including but not limited to birth certificates, insurance forms, grade cards, etc.
